Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll is the sixth album by American punk rock band Social Distortion. It is their first studio album in eight years, since the release of White Light, White Heat, White Trash in 1996, the longest gap between Social Distortion's studio albums to date. The album was originally scheduled to be released in the fall of 2000, but was not yet completed, and it was officially released on September 28, 2004.

Ok, so it's called "Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll" which, and I’m sure many of you will agree, screams cliché. I'll tell you something about this album; it never really beats back that initial impression. When I give this album a listen, even now, something young inside of me probably makes me enjoy the initial.

In short, Social Distortion have made us a rock 'n' roll record, not an event, and that's exactly what they were supposed to do. This album is brisk, especially compared to White Light White Heat White Trash. Instrumentally there's no evidence Social Distortion took any downtime. The rhythm section of John Maurer on bass and Charlie Quintana on drums is as tight as ever, while guitarist Jonny Wickersham (ex-Cadillac Tramps, US Bombs) puts on a phenomenal performance.

Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Mike Ness, guitarist Jonny Wickersham, bassist Brent Harding and drummer David Hidalgo, Jr. Social Distortion temporarily disbanded in 1985, due to frontman Ness' drug addiction and troubles with the law, which resulted in extended stints in various rehabilitation centers, that lasted for two years.
