Jim Hopkins (born 1946) is a New Zealand celebrity well known for his work in television, radio and theatre. Hopkins was scriptwriter for Close to Home, presenter of Fast Forward, Don't Tell Me, The Inventors, Dateline Monday, a performer on The BNZ Festival Debates, and radio talkback host on Radio Pacific in Auckland and Radio Avon in Christchurch. In August 1998, Hopkins released his first book, Blokes & Sheds, which hit number one on the New Zealand sales list after only a week.

Jim Hopkins at the San Francisco Disco Preservation Society Project is a BEAST! The hours of work that he and his staff must put in, and the attention to detail that they employ have given us so many quality "gems," that could have easily been been lost or forgotten. I commend them for their dedication to preserving a very important part of our musical and cultural history. Much respect to Jim Hopkins, this is a labor of love. Thank you for sharing these musical experiences with us. Jim Busenbark.
