The pipe organ is a musical instrument that produces sound by driving pressurized air (called wind) through the organ pipes selected via a keyboard. Because each pipe produces a single pitch, the pipes are provided in sets called ranks, each of which has a common timbre and volume throughout the keyboard compass. Most organs have multiple ranks of pipes of differing timbre, pitch, and volume that the player can employ singly or in combination through the use of controls called stops.

This 92 Key Decap (Antwerp) Belgian Dance Organ was among the last produced by the company which used all pipes for melody and countermelody - subsequently electronic voice components were used. Another clue to its late build date is the percussion being on show - in earlier models this was usually hidden in a cabinet behind the main decorative front. Having started its 'preserved' life at St Albans Organ Museum in the 1960s, it was eventually sold on, and has now ended up at its new home with owner Peter Craig.
