Q-Bert (born 1969) is the performing name of Richard Quitevis, a Filipino-American (of Ilocano descent) DJ and music-writer. Living in San Francisco, he started playing with records at the age of 15 and was influenced by the street performers of San Francisco's hip-hop community in the mid 1980s. He started his musical career in a group called FM20 with Mix Master Mike and Apollo in 1990.

Dubbed the first "scratch concept album," Wave Twisters is the first full-length from the man considered to be the world's greatest turntablist - DJ Q-Bert. As a member of the Northern California DJ collective Invisibl Skratch Piklz, innovation has always been the norm for Q-Bert, . Continuing to break new ground, his debut gives further evidence that the most talented record spinners have evolved into complete musicians. Song by song, the record explains a tale of an entire civilization that communicates only through the sounds of scratching.
