CD - See For Miles Records 230). Apart from the best-known songs, like "Kodak Ghosts" and "Postcards of Scarborough," there are a couple of tracks from the ultra-rare Window album, plenty of tasty Mick Ronson guitar work (he left Chapman to join Bowie), and some wonderful bass work from Rick Kemp. The star, though, is the "old blues guy from Yorkshire" himself, who wasn't so old when he recorded these tracks, although he displays a voice much older and weary than his years.

A return to the gloriously ragged kineticism of Rainmaker (1969), Fully Qualified Survivor (1970), Wrecked Again (1971), and Savage Amusement (1976), Michael’s first American record -an elusive goal for decades-embodies his undeniable late career masterpiece. The album includes both radical reinterpretations of obscure material from Michael’s catalog as well as three new compositions: Sometimes You Just Drive, Money Trouble, and Rosh Pina. Michael Chapman sets a very high bar lyrically-he is the best. Something to aspire to. – Kayla Cohen, Itasca.

Michael Chapman (born 24 January 1941, Hunslet, Leeds, Yorkshire, England) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. Chapman originally began playing guitar with jazz bands, mainly in his home town of Leeds in The West Riding of Yorkshire. He became well known in the folk clubs of the late 1960s, as well as on the 'progressive' music scene, and has recorded over 40 albums to date.

Extraordinarily, over a nearly 50-year recording career featuring guitar work infused with all manner of American jazz, blues and ragtime influences, Michael Chapman had never before recorded an American album – a situation rectified here with a combo of younger devotees attracted by his burgeoning reputation as a surviving master guitarist to rival John Fahey.
