James Gang Rides Again (alternatively known as simply Rides Again) is the second studio album by American rock band James Gang. The album was released in mid 1970, on the label ABC Records. It is the James Gang's first album to feature bassist Dale Peters Walsh's songwriting had improved, giving the band solid support for their stylistic experiments.

The James Gang was an American rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966. The band went through a variety of line-up changes until they recorded their first album as a power trio consisting of Joe Walsh (guitars, lead vocals), Tom Kriss (bass) and Jim Fox (drums). Dale Peters replaced Kriss on Bass for the band's second and third albums. The band had two hit songs, "Funk and "Walk Away", which continue to be popular on classic rock and AOR stations.

The James Gang's debut LP, Yer' Album, was very much a first record and very much a record of its time. The heavy rock scene of the period was given to extensive jamming, and four tracks ran more than six minutes each. The group had written some material, but they were still something of a cover band, and the disc included their extended workouts on Buffalo Springfield's "Bluebird" and the Yardbirds' "Lost Woman," the latter a nine-minute version complete with lengthy guitar, bass, and drum solos.

The James Gang's debut album, YER ALBUM, has been given a sterling remastering job by Universal, and the result is proof that guitarist-singer Joe Walsh was great even as a young man. Drummer Jim Fox first played with the Cleveland-area band The Outsiders but left them in 1965 to attend college. After they scored a national hit the following year with "Time Won't Let Me", Fox returned temporarily to play with them after their other drummer was drafted.
