The Platters are an American vocal group formed in 1952. They were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era. Their distinctive sound was a bridge between the pre-rock Tin Pan Alley tradition and the burgeoning new genre. Los Platters pusieron el tono melódico a los efervescentes primeros años del rock and roll. Fue el gran quinteto doo wop de los cincuenta, con canciones que aún sorprenden por su calidad y la perfección de sus armonías, resaltadas en esta edición por un excelente trabajo de remasterización. En este doble CD se reúnen todas y cada una de las canciones que triunfaron en España entre 1955 y 1963. "Only you", "My prayer", "The great pretender", "El humo ciega tus ojos", "La hora del crepúsculo" y "Sixteen tons", entre otros títulos legendarios, además de dos canciones en español, en las voces originales del grupo, entre las que destaca el gran Tony Wiliams.
