Warren McGlone (born September 17, 1969, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), known by the stage name Steady B, is an American hip hop emcee who, along with Schoolly D, the Fresh Prince, and Three Times Dope, was one of the first wave of Philadelphia-area emcees to gain notoriety in the mid to late 1980s. Steady B was a member (and de facto leader) of Philadelphia's Hilltop Hustlers crew.

The title is a reference to The Buzzcocks' compilation album Singles Going Steady. The collection would later be issued on vinyl for the first time on October 20, 2017. Singles Going Steady. Singles Going Steady is a compilation album by English punk rock band Buzzcocks, first released on . Records in the United States on 25 September 1979.

Going Steady" is a smooth little rap ballad that contains one of smoothest mack lines I ever heard; "If I don't give you my Heart, you'll steal it" (every since Uncle L dropped "I Need Love" it seems that a lot of rappers were fallin' in love back in the day). The innocent love approach of that song may sounded dated to the contemporary ears, it also sounds refreshing these days compared to the trashy ghetto love ballads you'll hear from time to time in today's rap songs  . Would I go as far to say that this Steady B's best album? Well I haven't heard "Let the Hustlers Play", so of all the records I've heard, this is the best I've heard thus far. Listening to this record, it's too bad Steady allowed himself to become involved in the life of crime because he had the skills to could've adapted well into the 90's.

This contained good, occasionally clever raps and rhymes in a mostly apolitical tone by Steady B. Hip-hop hadn't yet been overrun by gangstas, so lightweight party material and microphone challenges were still the dominant compositional terrain.

Talk about Steady B - Going Steady

Qane
There is something about this 12" which works well.Going steady extended mix that really hits the the soft spot for the smooth operators out there, it's the women's vocal blinded into the tune that works a treat, some may not like it because it's a crossover style like a few years later when Hip Hop RnB was pretty big for awhile however if we move on to Ego Trippin it's right up pure Philly Hip Hop smashing it to the point to any 80s hip hop fan...A great 12 IMO!!
