Jimi Hendrix - Freedom: Atlanta Pop Festival 1. "Fire" 4:412. The double LP set I received is on very heavy high quality vinyl that plays perfectly. Aesthetically this album and its artwork is great to look at with easy to read labeling and great choices of photos. It makes me sad that a high-quality movie recording of Atlanta was not made like there was for Woodstock because it would be great to see this live show in full color. Listening to this great album with headphones can help you imagine what it was like. One person found this helpful.

This album of 'The Jimi Hendrix Experience' contains a full soundtrack of two live performance previously never officially released. The record was made the May 18, 1968 at the Miami Pop Festival. Titles are mixed to make a consistent setlist, some of them had never been recorded live earlier. The show is generally very good and the original recording has been well restored. Unfortunately, the quality of mastering is bad enough, sound is too much saturated and we can hear only the Jimi’s guitar

That's not to say that 'Jimi Hendrix Experience: Miami Pop Festival' doesn't have its moments; it's just that you've probably heard most of them before in superior settings. Taken from a May 18, 1968, festival date, in which Hendrix and the Experience were the headliners, the 11-song album spotlights the band during a peak period. But 'Miami Pop Festival' doesn't offer as much to the legacy as such revealing historical documents as Hendrix's Monterey, Woodstock or even Winterland gigs. It's tough, professional and airtight. It just doesn't shine new any light on an already well-illuminated career. Next: Top 10 Posthumous Jimi Hendrix Albums. Filed Under: Jimi Hendrix.
