To the Bone is the fifth studio album by English recording artist Steven Wilson, released on 18 August 2017 on Caroline International. It became Wilson's highest charting album ever, reaching number 3 in the UK Album Chart and the US Billboard Independent Albums chart. In late 2016, Wilson announced that he had returned to the studio to record his fifth album. During the first months of 2017, Wilson released two work-in-progress studio clips to his YouTube channel

To The Bone is Steven Wilson’s 5th studio album, following 2015’s critically acclaimed Hand. Cannot It again features Israeli singer Ninet Tayeb, who contributed vocals to said album and arguably helped give songs such as Routine and Ancestral such a unique and memorable quality. In his own words, Steven described the album: My fifth record is in many ways inspired by the hugely ambitious progressive pop records that I loved in my youth (think Peter Gabriel’s So, Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love, Talk Talk’s Colour of Spring and Tears for Fears‘ Seeds of Love)

The album sold very well, reaching the top 5 in Germany, The Netherlands and Finland, number 13 in the UK and number 38 in the US Billboard top 200. The subsequent tour consisted of 150 shows, including 2 special sold out shows at the Royal Albert Hall, London. All of Steven‘s 4 albums have been very different in character from each other, and once again this latest album will be a step into something quite different, as well as on a new label

Down to the Bone is Quiet Riot's eighth album recorded at Ocean Studios, Burbank Calif. The Track House, Van Nuys, Calif. and Paramount Studios, Hollywood, California. After Quiet Riot reformed in the early 1990s, the 1993 album Terrified was released, although it failed to become a commercial success. The band soon recorded their eighth studio album, Down to the Bone, which was produced by lead vocalist Kevin DuBrow, with executive producer Ron Sobol.

To The Bone keeps its pop and prog influences in a near perfect balance-flash and flamboyant at times but with some lovingly crafted big tunes. The most different album from Steven Wilson. He really put his efforts on it, and bring to us a completely psychedelic pop art of work. HisThe most different album from Steven Wilson.

Released through Caroline, To the Bone explores a variety of themes, unlike his previous album, 2015’s Hand. In this new collection of songs, he visits politics, religion, and truth, but each ends with the same conclusion – we have seriously messed up the world we live in. Though the resolution is bleak, the general feel of the album is anything but, in fact, it is uplifting and joyful. To create the work, Wilson worked with a great many artists. In several songs he collaborates with Ninet Tayeb, an Israeli singer whose voice is a perfect fit with Wilson, the Experimental Guitarist David Kollar, and Nine Below Zero’s Harmonica Player Mark Feltham. Additionally, ex-Kajagoogoo Bassist Nick Beggs also provides Chapman Stick, Adam Holzman delivers on keyboards, while drums come from Jeremy Stacey and Craig Blundell.
