Jim Post (born October 28, 1939 in Houston, Texas) is an American folk singer-songwriter, composer, playwright and actor. In 1968 his pop song "Reach out of the Darkness" charted on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks, peaking at number 10. He had previously performed with the folk group The Rum Runners. He went on to record solo albums for labels such as Flying Fish Records and Fantasy Records. Nei gruppi: Friend And Lover, Jim & Cathy.

Jim Post first came to prominence in and around the early 1970's with his album on Fantasy Records called Jim Post ' Colorado Exile'. produced by Jim Post and Ed Bogas. The album contains inspired song come verse, recalling the the wonder of the wilderness and the glory of the mountains and woods of Colorado tell me what you see. I see a young man hanging from a tree. I see a poor boy dying to be free.

Internal Exile ("A Collection of a Boy's Own Stories") was Fish's second solo album after leaving Marillion in 1988. The album, released 28 October 1991, was inspired by the singer's past, his own personal problems and his troubled experiences with his previous record label EMI. The album's music reflects Fish's indulgence in the vast regions of music that he wanted to explore as a solo artist; most notably Celtic music and folk styles. Post performed and recorded in the 1960s as the duo Friend and Lover with his wife at that time, Cathy Conn Post. He worked as a solo singer-songwriter in Chicago and throughout the Midwest in the 1970s and 1980s

Why does Jim force himself into exile? Why doesn't he just go back to England and his beloved dad? Chew on This. Try on an opinion or two, start a debate, or play the devil’s advocate. Conrad argues that there is no place on earth for Jim to escape the Patna incident as long as he refuses to let go of his past, so all this exile business is totally pointless. Jim isn't the only one in exile. Most of the other characters are far from home, including Marlow, who copes with his exile by devoting himself to storytelling.
