Sonic Firestorm is the second studio album by British power metal band DragonForce, released through Noise Records on 11 May 2004. It is the first album to feature bassist Adrian Lambert and drummer Dave Mackintosh. The reissue of this album was released on 22 February 2010, along with a remixed and remastered version of the band's first album, Valley of the Damned. The re-release also came with the bonus track "Cry of the Brave", which was a Japanese bonus track on the original release.

A lot of people hate the whole "really long songs, speed of light guitar work" thing, but personally I just think it's what they do. They have established their style and like them or not have definitely made a huge impact on the metal community. In a word, "Sonic Firestorm" is a decent and awesome album. It has some shortcomings as well. Considering the incredible and innovative solos, I would like to recommend it to every power metal head, and if you like swift solos, you can't miss it.

But is it stronger that Valley Of The Damned ? In some ways, Dragonforce upgrades a bit. The speed and the sound, yeah, it’s faster and sounds better – but the songwriting is not quite as strong this time around. Not as strong means: still strong enough, just not that strong. Remember, Valley Of The Damned was perhaps the best debut album since Angra’s Angels Cr. Favourite songs? Quite a few, the opener, My Spirit Will Go On is killer (the intro gives me a . feel for some reason), Above The Winter Moonlight.

Sonic firestorm was can't easily be described indifferent from their debut album, valley of the damned unless you listen very closely to its overall rhythm. It has a much more complex guitar riffs and solos throughout the songs and faster vocals that arguably gave birth to the power metal genre early in the 2000s.
