Wow Flash! is Elvis Crespo's third solo recording for Sony Music. Elvis Crespo's latest album, Regresó el Jefe, went on sale on 5 June 2007, with its first single being "La Foto Se Me Borró. He dedicated this album to his niece, Wilmarie Agosto Crespo, who died in a car accident on March 28, 2007. In 2016 Elvis was featured on Deorro's number one hit song "Bailar" which was featured on a Target Corporation Commercial. On March 16, 2009, Crespo married his manager, Maribel Vega, in Puerto Rico.

Elvis Crespo may be sporting a slick new 'do and designer threads, but his sound remains the same on Wow Flash, his third studio album in as many years. Just try to sit still during the pulsing merengue rhythms of "Bella Flor," "Mi Sol Mi Luna" and "Wow Flash!" That's par for the course with any Crespo album, but it's also part of the problem. This collection-as infectious as it is-is practically interchangeable with Crespo's previous efforts, 1998's Suavemente and 1999's Pintame

Crespo's production team was able to craft many equally high-energy pieces on his debut and on Pintame, along with some fun nods to bachata, but you don't even have those here, at least not sustained through a single track, though the title track might have been an exception if the Spanglish hadn't come off so stiff. Crespo and his band are charismatic if you see them live, but this time the Wow didn't transfer to disc.
