Mindfield tosses together melodeath skank beat sections with slow, somewhat Kamelotish power metal, and neither are executed in a particularly memorable way. Melodies are completely typical to their respective genres, as are song structures: Mindfield never makes any effort to throw a curveball the way of the listener or try any surprising moves. They're too busy plodding through the same ideas most bands had the dignity to give up years previous to experiment, and in the end all you get is a boring, disappointing album without even any overt failures to mention for it.
