Mike Cooper is a British guitar player, singer and songwriter. Born in 1942 in Reading, Berkshire, UK, Cooper started playing guitar shortly after leaving school in 1958. In 1962, as a singer and harmonica player, he co-founded an R&B band The Blues Committee, with guitarist Paul Manning, guitarist Dicky Reeves and drummer Eddie Page.

Mike Cooper is an exceptional guitarist with an unique blues style. I first seen him live at Belfasts Queens Festival in the late sixties and went for the full three nights I was so impressed. I later seen him in London at I think London Uni when I had the privlage to shake the famous hand! His follow up albums are also worth exploring as he comfortabley slipped into a personal folk/jazz style. Trout Steel" is also a great album as are the rest tho after.
