Jazz Casual was an occasional series on jazz music on National Educational Television (NET), the predecessor to the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). The show was produced by Richard Moore and KQED of San Francisco, California. Episodes ran for 30 minutes. It ran from 1961 to 1968 and was hosted by jazz critic Ralph Gleason. The series had a pilot program in 1960. That episode, however, has been destroyed.

Each Jazz Casual program included a chat between the artist and Gleason. In this brief segment, King talks candidly about life on the road, his early roots, and his mentors and idols. King had not yet achieved the status and recognition he’d enjoy in the ’70s, and the effort it took to survive as a bluesman in the era of Motown and psychedelia is evident in his remarks

Jazz casual Cannonball, liner notes, picture sleeve, title tracks, total time playing, musician. Alto saxophonist Julian "Cannonball" Adderley (1928-75) discovered his personal formula for reaching listeners early in his career. His playing was always both sophisticated and earthy, but he quickly learned that emphasizing its earthy side was the best way to grab an audience's ears and hold on to them. Once he had hooked them with the down-home blues, it was easier to get them to sit still for the more challenging material that was always part of his repertoire. Ralph J. Gleason's Jazz Casual is an extension of his writings, with moving pictures instead of text; live performances instead of descriptions. It is, quite simply, the culmination of his dream.
