That's the Way Love Is is the tenth studio album by soul musician Marvin Gaye, released on January 8, 1970, on the Tamla (Motown) label. Built on the success of the title track ( US Pop, US R&B in late 1969) originally taken from . and much like Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" after its success, was released with intent to sell albums based on the success of one particular single (a Motown trademark).

V Capri are a new wave/power pop band formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1984, fronted by lead vocalist Tod Johnston, with Lance Karapetcoff on keyboards, Michael O'Brien on bass guitar, Alan Simpson on drums and Damian Ward on guitar. The band was popular locally but were unable to transfer this to the eastern states despite having signed with Mushroom. 2] They released six further singles which all reached the top 10 in Perth, with "Haunting Me" and "That's the Way" peaking at locally.
