Hummingbird is the second studio album by American indie rock band Local Natives, released on January 29, 2013 on Frenchkiss Records in the US, and on Infectious Records in Europe. Produced by The National guitarist Aaron Dessner, the album was preceded by the singles, "Breakers" and "Heavy Feet. Breakers" reached on the Billboard Top 200. The song "Mt. Washington" was also featured in the 2015 video game Life Is Strange.

2013 sophomore album from the Silver Lake-based Indie outfit. Much has happened between the band's debut album Gorilla Manor and Hummingbird. The band says Hummingbird was created from the emotional framework of being stretched between two opposite poles. In the two years following Gorilla Manor's release, the band saw the highest highs and the lowest lows they had ever experienced together. While many of their wildest musical ambitions were coming to fruition, personal relationships faltered or fell apart, and a close family member suddenly passed away.

Hummingbird, Local Natives' second album, offers a tricky answer to that question. They're still on the same path- no fashionable synths or newfound fixation with 1990s R&B here- but innovation seems beside the point. This is a record of lateral growth, one that finds the band establishing their own place among their contemporaries  . With Hummingbird, Local Natives have made a thoughtful, lovely album with small gestures that provide great rewards.
