all the great times, for showing me how to play the pandeiro and tambourim, for all of the great jokes, and for calling me BRENNNNNTCHIE! I thank all of Welson and Renatas family in SJRP for being such wonderful hosts. He recorded four songs with Milton Nascimento on the album Crooner (1999), which is a Sinatra-like jazz album complete with string orchestrations. In 1993, Pereira was also part of a project called Brasil Msical produced by Tom Brasil and CCBB (Central Cultural Banco do Brasil). When playing live, especially with Hamilton de 51 Pereira plays his violo oito cordas (8 string guitar tuned F B, E, A, D, G, B, E) in this group to substitute for the lack of a bassist. 96 Holanda, he will often make use of a harsh rasgueado (strumming) style.

Nascimento is an album by Brazilian musician Milton Nascimento, released through Warner Bros. In 1998, the album earned Nascimento the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album. Louva-A-Deus (The Praying Mantis)" (Brant, Nascimento) – 3:07. O Cavaleiro (The Rider)" (Lopes, Nascimento) – 3:42. Guardanapos de Papel (Paper Napkins)" (Leo Maslíah) – 5:24. Cuerpo y Alma (Body and Soul)" (Mateo) – 3:59. Rouxinol (The Nightingale)" (Nascimento) – 3:15.

Nascimento is Milton Nascimento's most deeply Brazilian-sounding album in a long time, and also the most downcast, but none the worse in its emotional impact. He adopts the battering, heavy percussion rhythms of the folia boxes (popularized by Olodum) on several tracks, which frame the main portion of the album and give it enormous vitality. Particularly affecting is Léo Masliah's "Guardanapos de Papel," sung in Portuguese at first and reprised in Spanish at the album's close, which has an almost despairing Nascimento singing about prophetic yet impoverished poets with tasteful piano/keyboard textures.
