This review also resides on the regular release but I feel it should be here as well since this was the version I actually listened to. My favorite movie of all time deserves only the best of the best and in this case they definitely succeeded in making something special. Few negatives can be said like slight clicks here and there which would be detrimental considering how soft and quiet this soundtrack can be. But with some cleaning I am sure most of these anomalies can be eliminated. The music staging itself is excellently balanced and vibrant. Every aspect is heard and appreciated. If only the movie itself sounded as good. It genuinely sent chills through my whole body. Something interesting I took note of was how all the tracks seem to be in order of how the movie plays them. I might be wrong but it certainly made me imagine the scenes in my head as I was listening. A smart decision to make in my opinion.I would play it more if I didn't cherish the experience so much. As a soundtrack it still fits best along with the movie. Nevertheless I value this album above all others in my collection. A rare masterpiece!Equipment used:Rega RP1 with Rega Carbon cartridgeCyrus 2 AmplifierSystem Fidelity SF-3050 tower speakersCustom made HQ speaker cables

I don't, no. There's a new listing for a copy with the poster - maybe you could buy another!

Bummer. You wouldnt happen to have a poster or hype card that cones with some Angels Egg LPs?

Well the red one has subs, but it's a bootleg. To be honest, I was happy with the Japanese Blu, as I've seen the film so many times I don't need subs. The cel I almost bought was of the girl moving through the streets. It had the original background too, which you don't see very often with Angel's Egg cels

Same here, Id like the get more things like the book and blu ray. Do you know a blu ray which has proper English subtitles by the way? Is the red one the only?I did get a fanmade recreation project on VHS on Ebay just recently, and Im looking to get the Laser Disc of it. There is an animation cel on ebay currently too but its quite expensive and not the best picture. What was the cel you saw depicting from the movie?
Dead Samurai
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've since played it through a few times and the static has disappeared almost completely. I suppose it's just that bit more noticeable when the music is so quiet. I'm quite obsessed with 'Angel's Egg. I own the original Japanese DVD , the Japanese Blu ray and the storyboard book. Back in 2002 I had a chance to buy an original animation production cel for not too much money. Really wish I had now.

tokyomonkey I wonder did those pops and clicks disappear after you cleaned it? I picked this up last month, and although the vinyl looks mint, there seems to be a lot of static which I cam't get rid of. You know Im honestly not sure. I have 2 copies now, the one I played before the review has never been cleaned. But the second one I bought which is actually the first has been cleaned with my Okki Nokki RCM with Lart Du Son fluid and I never played it yet. I do remember just test running it after cleaning though and it was noticably quieter than the other and I confirmed that the clixks I did hear were static as they oopped up in different places all the time.Would you like me to try and fully play the cleaned one to see if its truly clean?Edit: I got curious and test played it. Things went as expected. I got some lighter ticks only, strangely it was almost only in my left channel. But as I know one try isnt enough I respun the same areas I tested and after the second it was almost entirely cleaned up and not even the slightest tick was left. Sometimes there is that little debris or static left after cleaning that the stylus needs to remove and discharge. The only noise left is a very low wooshing surface noise that never bothers any music and the occasional tick left that can only be heard on the most silent music.Keep in mind, these are not 70s JVC records from Japan. They probably dont have the same notorious quality as they used to but its still great.
