Two early albums by The Tubes - Young And Rich (1976) and Now (1977) - are being issued as a double CD set. It's a joy to hear these albums, which have been out of print for quite a while. This was a band that blended disparate strands of Album-Oriented Rock into a vision all their own. Salacious Zappa-like satire? Check.

Young And Rich lyrics: (Spooner) Young and rich Everything I desire Light bulbs with shades in every room And work is play-believe me Nothing must come too hard It comes in the mail most everyday I could resp. Light bulbs with shades. And work is play-believe me. Nothing must come too hard. It comes in the mail. I could respect a man who had it all. and he'd toss the ball away. I know I'm not that kind.
