Rodby is the Pat Metheny Group bassist since about 1981 and Ross Traut a heavy session musician. Rodby's upright smooth, round and at times grooves very nice supported by Ross' penchant for making a melodic heartfelt statements without the need for flash or over the top guitar technology hubris. Both sidemen reveal a tenderness for beautiful melodies and quiet dynamics than ebb into ones evening listen. This IS great evening music thats unobtrusive and never becomes aural wallpaper. Talk about Traut / Rodby - The Great Lawn

Kulwes
Great late nite listening. An amalgamation of jazz and laid back pop instrumentals which are stripped down to the bone but played with meaty soulfulness. The recording is warm and personifies what jazz music should be a very personal statement by two great musicians getting together to make art without the need for clinical evaluation by their piers.
