Produced by Adam's House Cat & Steve Melton. Album Town Burned Down. Town Burned Down Lyrics. I followed the firetruck home Saw my whole world up in flames I'm burned down Nothing left for me to do But get in my car and drive another way Away from this town burned down. No, you couldn’t stop me if you tried But you can join me We won't stop until we find A chance to start again. I found out, as the smoke was clearing What it means to be alone All my friends are either burned out or gone Time to run away Run so far away

Town Burned Down, the sole lost album from Adam’s House Cat that’s now being released for the first time, lays bare the band’s many influences. The 1990 LP offers a revealing glimpse into the type of music–primarily reverb heavy college rock–Cooley and Hood were most infatuated with as young twentysomething’s (Cooley was 19, and Hood, 21, when Adam’s House Cat band formed in 1985). The specter of bands like . late-period Replacements, and even Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers loom large on Town Burned Down, which today sounds like a long-lost scrappy southern indie staple.

1991 saw Adam’s House Cat struggling to both fund their album’s completion and simply stay together. Hood tracked his lead vocals in on the same January night in which George . Bush began Operation Desert Storm. Backing vocals and minimal overdubs were added that winter and though Hood was not entirely thrilled with his vocal performances, by spring, Melton had begun mixing the raw recordings. The final mixes were later mastered at Sterling Sound in Edgewater, NJ by longtime DBT collaborator Greg Calbi. TOWN BURNED DOWN can at last be properly heard the way Adam’s House Cat always wanted it to be heard, its raw soul and boisterous enthusiasm already hinting at what was yet to come.

His house had burned down in a terrible fire, leaving him homeless and without possessions. But the man hadn’t lost one very important thing to him - his tiny, blonde-furred cat. The fire had happened on Thursday. According to a news report, Ali Meşe, who lives in a small village in western Turkey, had been trying to light a gas stove inside his house. In an emotional photo, Meşe is pictured hugging his frightened cat as firefighters survey the damage. Meşe leans into his cane, while using his other hand to hold his cat against his chest. Neither of them look like they want to let go of each other.

My House Burned Down. My daughter’s room after the fire. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, but I have a good excuse: my house burned down. Before I tell my tale, you should know that everybody is okay, including my dog who was at the house when it happened. Everybody in our lives has been incredibly generous and supportive. With a million thoughts racing through my head, I zipped across town. My house is at the back of a cul-de-sac, and I could see my street was packed with police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. There were two big engines in the front yard spraying water. Now it’s time for us. You know what you don’t want to do when your house just burned down? Shop.
