Charles Melvin "Cootie" Williams (July 10, 1911 – September 15, 1985) was an American jazz, jump blues, and rhythm and blues trumpeter. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Williams began his professional career at the age of fourteen with the Young Family band, which included saxophonist Lester Young. According to Williams he acquired his nickname as a boy when his father took him to a band concert. When it was over his father asked him what he'd heard and he replied, "Cootie, cootie, cootie.

Thomas Earl Petty (October 20, 1950 – October 2, 2017) was an American singer-songwriter, t, record producer, and actor. He was the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, formed in 1976. He previously led the band Mudcrutch. He was also a member of the late 1980s supergroup the Traveling Wilburys. Petty recorded a number of hit singles with the Heartbreakers and as a solo artist.

Submotion Orchestra are one of the most musically diverse bands I have ever come across. A melting pot of dub, soul, jazz, electronica, amongst others. Their first two albums "Finest Hour" and "Fragments" are both beautifully crafted masterpieces. If someone asked you to compare them to another band, there really is no comparision out there. Ruby Wood's hauntingly silky smooth vocals perfectly compliment the rich blend of keys and synthesisers, drums and percussion, brass instruments bathed in rich, warm bass  . They perform a modest set, and the way they behave on stage almost undersells them. There is no pretentiousness or arrogance, no gimmicks, just rich, diverse music carried off beautifully.
