Robert Randolph and the Family Band is an American funk and soul band led by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph (Robert Jermaine Randolph, born August 8, 1977, Irvington, New Jersey). NPR has described the band as one with an "irresistible rock 'n' roll swagger". Rolling Stone also went on to include Randolph upon their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. The band has been Grammy nominated a total of three times.

Robert Randolph and The Family Band Releasing "We Walk This Road". Grammy-nominated and pedal steel guitar maestro Robert Randolph and The Family Band will be releasing their third studio album entitled We Walk This Road set to release this June on Warner Bros Records. Produced by legendary T-Bone Burnett, the album consists of 11-track funk and soul numbers including Randolph’s renditions of songs like Bob Dylan’s Shot of Love, Walk Don’t Walk, (Prince) and I Don’t Wanna Be A Soldier Mama (John Lennon). source: GLIDE Magazine.

What can't be denied is that the presumably ecumenical crowd at Wetlands was into it when Randolph came to, as the artist proclaims at the beginning of the gig, "raise the roof" shortly before the venerable club was torn down.

The volume goes up and down the individual band members play fillers and the crowd gets urged on but every song is at least twice as long as it should be. He plays some great solos but not nearly enough. It seems like they are trying to pull this album from his section. Grab it while you can.
