Hoggle is the alternate persona of famed James Berry. Hoggle is the first creature Sarah encounters in the labyrinth upon her arrival. Hoggle is gruff and ill-tempered and is unhelpful when Sarah first approaches him. He is first seen, pissing in a pond until Sarah makes her presence known, startling him in the process. Hoggle then begins spraying faeries with a spray can repellent, his apparent cruelty horrifying Sarah.

The Oubliette is a 1914 American silent drama film directed by Charles Giblyn, featuring Murdock MacQuarrie, Pauline Bush, and Lon Chaney. It is part of a four-film series directed by Giblyn called The Adventures of François Villon. The Oubliette is based on a short story of the same name by George Bronson Howard published in The Century Magazine. This film and By the Sun's Rays are two of Lon Chaney's earliest surviving films. It’s a place you put peopl. o forget about ‘em! I’ll proudly admit that I saw the movie, Labyrinth, multiple times in the theatre and untold numbers of views since. That was how bloody good the oubliette turned out to be. It wasn’t that I had no memory of where I had trapped my self; it was that I was able to operate as if that self was not the dominant issue. I could put the blame for all my crap on poor parental communication or my weight or my inability to follow through on anything.
