It is, so far, their first of four concept albums, with Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence being the second, Octavarium being the third and The Astonishing being the fourth. The album's theme expands on themes found in Metropolis-Part I: "The Miracle and the Sleeper", though the story of the album changes the idea of "The Miracle", "The Sleeper" and "Metropolis" into being people
