Rampant is the fifth studio album by the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, released in 1974. It was the third of their LP albums to be produced by Roger Glover, and proved to be the last time they would work with him. All lyrics written by Pete Agnew, Manny Charlton, Dan McCafferty, Darrell Sweet unless otherwise noted. Salvo Records released a version in 2010 with the following bonus tracks: Dan McCafferty - vocals, photography. Pete Agnew - bass guitar, guitar, background vocals, liner notes.

Black/Death Metal/Hardcore.

Nazareth's second album of 1974 finds the group tempering the four-on-the-floor hard rock attack they developed on Loud and Proud by working a surprising and effective Southern rock edge into the songs. The end result is an album that sounds like a crossbreeding of early AC/DC and Lynyrd Skynyrd at their hardest rocking

Punk rock started in 1976 on New York’s Bowery, when four cretins from Queens came up with a mutant strain of blitzkrieg bubblegum. The revolution they inspired split the history of rock & roll in half. But even if punk rock began as a kind of negation - a call to stark, brutal simplicity - its musical variety and transforming emotional power was immediate and remains staggering. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Ramones’ toweringly influential self-titled debut, we’ve compiled a list of the 40 Greatest Punk Albums of All Time.

Criteria: These Greatest Rock Albums were chosen for their Popularity, Influence, and Musical Impact. This list includes 'Studio', 'Live', and 'Soundtrack' albums. The Beatles (The White Album) (1968) - The Beatles 27. I Never Loved A Man the Way I Love You (1967) - Aretha Franklin 28. Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music (1962) - Ray Charles 29.

Falling somewhere between punk rock and new wave, the album highlighted that punk music functioned at its best when it dared to experiment, leading Trouser Press to dub the band a blast of fresh air compared to the more serious bands of new wave’s first charge. High-octane goofballs Rezillos mixed surf rock, garage, glam, rockabilly and New Wave quirko-costumes into a punk-rock band that feels like the B-52’s if they listened to more Cramps than Chic, wrote Rolling Stone in 2017. We had a core following of 50 people or so, but apart from that we were treated with a lot of suspicion. No one owned up to writing the graffiti either: I think it’s because they can’t spell ‘cunts’ right, says bassist Michael Bradley. With their debut album Los Angeles, X combined their bitter rallying against the trappings of high society with an elegant blend of art-punk that placed poetry and expression at its heart.

Rockarchive's list A-Z of rock bands & music artists ranging from indie rock bands, classic rock bands, punk rock bands, through to jazz & blues. AC/DC are an Australian rock band, formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. they have dubbed their music simply "rock and roll". Adam and the Ants were an English new wave band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group existed from 1977 to 1982.

Maybe the biggest album of the 2000's in American Idiot, followed by another killer album in 21st Century Breakdown. Warning was such an underrated album, and Shenanigans is underrated too. Definitely the best band out of the 2000's. I heard em once and ignored them. Every album they have is filled with great rock music. Exactly, the problem is most people haven't heard their original albums. They heard "Sex on Fire" and assumed all their stuff was similar. If you go back to "Youth and Young Manhood" and "Aha Shake Heartbreak" You'll find that they are a top 5 band of the 2000's. The natural talent in this family band is undeniable, most bands can't hold a candle to these guys.

In the late ’70s, punk bands like the Sex Pistols and Buzzcocks began tiring of the standard rock tropes, and members went on to experiment in different directions, inspiring others-particularly in the UK and New York, but also in places like Cleveland and Athens, G. to incorporate unusual sounds, from electronica to free jazz to world music, into their punk-rock. 50. Orange Juice – Rip It Up (1982) For most people, Scottish band Orange Juice was a one-hit wonder known for the UK Top 10 song Orange Juice, which was one of their most keyboard-driven New Wave-y tunes. But for those who bothered to listen beyond the opening title track, Rip It Up was an overlooked post-punk gem with funk rhythms, angular guitars and catchy melodies.
