John Mayall with Band (Greg Rzab and Jay Davenport) (2017). Born in Macclesfield, Cheshire in 1933, Mayall was the son of Murray Mayall, a guitarist and jazz music enthusiast. Mayall spent three years in Korea for national service and, during a period of leave, he bought his first electric guitar. Back in England, he enrolled at Manchester College of Art (now part of Manchester Metropolitan University) and started playing with semi-professional bands. After graduation, he obtained a job as an art designer but continued to play with local musicians. 1 & 2, released in February 1968.

Crusade is the fourth album and third studio album by the British blues rock band John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, released on 1 September 1967 on Decca Records. It was the follow-up to A Hard Road, also released in 1967. As with their two previous albums, Crusade was produced by Mike Vernon. The album was the first recordings of the then-18-year-old guitarist, Mick Taylor. Original release All songs by John Mayall except as noted. Oh, Pretty Woman" (. Stand Back Baby" – 1:50.

This is an interesting concept for a live album. The title tells it as it is, isn't a typical live album, more a sonic diary of the band on tour. John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - The Diary Of A Band Vol. 1 & 2 (1968).
