Thursday released their debut album, Waiting, in late 1999 with original guitarist Bill Henderson, who left the band in 2000 and was replaced by Steve Pedulla. The band gained popularity with the release of their second album, Full Collapse, in 2001, and released their third album and major label debut, War All the Time, in 2003, which reached number seven on the US Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Thursday released their fourth album, A City by the Light Divided, in 2006, and two further albums, Common Existence and No Devolución, before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2011

Album Name Common Existence. Released date 17 February 2009. Labels Epitaph Records.

Common Existence rubs off as a gritty, wishy-washy album with some of Thursday’s heaviest songs yet. Perhaps their collaboration with Envy and Geoff’s stint with United Nations altered the result of Common Existence. In fact, Thursday hardly hesitated to yank As He Climbed The Dark Mountain from the Envy split, which was arguable their best song from the EP. It is the aggressive songwriting found with As He Climbed The Dark Mountain that ultimately compliments the rest of the album

Album Common Existence. Common Existence Lyrics. You can't undo the needle's damage You can't unwalk a line once it's been crossed This is why we sing such common songs We live in a common age Filled with the common rage. Call out, collapsing, the shadows all fall Send out receivers to shut it off I never feel a thing You won't feel a thing I never feel a thing I feel it getting away from me now This is common existence This is common existence. The best laid plans turn into tragedies The best of friends make for the worst enemies This is why we lead such common lives.

Three years later, Thursday continue to buck trends with Common Existence, another melody-focused album cut with longtime Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann. Common Existence bears some trademarks of the band's classic screamo assault, but those aspects pale in comparison to Fridmann's own contributions, which help replicate the massive, multi-layered production found on his recent projects (including MGMT's Oracular Spectacular and Longwave's Secrets Are Sinister).

Common Existence is the fifth full-length album from rock band Thursday. It was released on February 17, 2009 on Epitaph Records. The band began recording at Dave Fridmann's Tarbox Road Studios on August 11, 2008 Contents.
