The Raspberries - power pop volume one flac album

Starting Over is the fourth and final studio album by the 1970s power pop band Raspberries. It peaked at on the Billboard pop album chart in 1974. The LP generated the Billboard pop single "Overnight Sensation (Hit Record)"; a second single, "Cruisin' Music," that had been issued as a single but was uncharted.

Their first album is really a variety of different styles. It opens with their hit Go All The Way but also includes the country-tinged Come Around And See Me, a real solid rocker Rock & Roll Mama and several beautiful love songs, Don't Want To Say Goodbye and Waiting. There is also the mini-operatic I Can Remember which clearly shows what would eventually blossom into Eric Carmen's solo career. Their second album, Fresh, is much more pop oriented and brings back styles of the 60's  . By the way there is also a Power Pop Volume 2 which includes the Raspberries' final two albums and it is equally as enjoyable. Too bad this band had internal turmoil and didn't see but three years on the charts. One person found this helpful.

The Raspberries – The Raspberries. The origins of power pop go all the way back to the ’60s, with the influence of garage rock and bubblegum pop feeding into a more cranked-up, amps-cranked brand of pop music. But 1972 is generally where the critics agree on power pop actually taking hold, and it’s all thanks to The Raspberries  . It’s easy to look back now on the debut album by Vancouver’s pre-eminent indie rock/power pop supergroup and see the beginning of a long and fruitful career of hook-filled earworms. But it’s easy to overlook that this album was, well, overlooked at the time.
