Dave Brubeck's Greatest Hits is not a new album. Released in the mid-1960s as a vinyl LP, it features Dave Brubeck on piano, Paul Desmond on alto sax, Eugene Wright on bass, and Joe Morello on drums. Brubeck experimented with time signatures throughout his career, and this can really be heard in "Unsquare Dance" in 7/4, and especially in "Blue Rondo à la Turk" in 9/8 and swing 4/4.

Carmen McRae Dave Brubeck Take Five shrink Record lp original vinyl album. All vinyl, labels, inner sleeves, and jackets are individually inspected in direct light. Vinyl Condition grade:VG to VG+ (see chart directly below). Vg+ on vinyl and cover. The record looks and sounds good. The cover looks good, rough spot on top edge(see photos).

Featuring such familiar items as "Take Five," "In Your Own Sweet Way," "The Duke," "Trolley Song," "Unsquare Dance," and "Blue Rondo à la Turk," the collection provides a fine introduction to Brubeck's collegiate jazz for the uninitiated. Time Out remains the best place to start a Brubeck appreciation, but this is an excellent single-disc sampler.

David Warren "Dave" Brubeck (born December 6, 1920) is an American jazz pianist. He has written a number of jazz standards, including "In Your Own Sweet Way" and "The Duke". Brubeck's style ranges from refined to bombastic, reflecting his mother's attempts at classical training and his improvisational skills. His music is known for employing unusual time signatures, and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities
