The Six Wives of Henry VIII is the second studio album by English keyboardist Rick Wakeman, released in January 1973 on A&M Records. It is an instrumental progressive rock album with its concept based on his interpretations of the musical characteristics of the wives of Henry VIII

What is the exact connection with Henry VIII and his wives? Hard to say. Why does the track dedicated to Anne of Cleves resemble the Hollies' "Bus Stop?" . Rick Wakeman is one of te legends of prog rock keyboard players, and this album is his most essential effort. I first heard "Excerpts from The Six Wives Of Henry VIII" on the live Yes album "Yessongs",and I was intrigued. When I acquired the album "Six Wives" I was NOT disappointed. Wakeman's marriage of classical and rock stylings is truly magical. One person found this helpful.
