Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers were an English novelty pop music act from Rotherham, Yorkshire. The face of the group was Jive Bunny, a cartoon rabbit who appeared in the videos, and also (as a human being in a costume) did promotional appearances for them. Doncaster DJ and producer Les Hemstock created the original "Swing the Mood" mix for the Music Factory owned Mastermix DJ service. It was then taken from there and developed as a single release by father and son team John and Andrew Pickles
Jive Bunny: The Album is the debut album by Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers, released in 1989 by Telstar Records. It includes two UK number one singles: "Swing the Mood" and "That's What I Like". Each of the album's tracks is made up of a medley of songs and samples from the 1940s to the 1970s. The album peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart and was the Christmas number two album that year. Rock and Roll Party Mix".

Jive Bunny: The Album is a wonderful trip down memory lane with a blend of classic oldie rock of the 50's and 60's with a dash of Glen Miller's in the Mood and the Andrews Sisters. I especially like the way the music is flawlessly mixed to present a continual treat for the listener. I listen to this CD while driving to Buffalo from Syracuse and the miles seem to melt away. If you are a fan of oldies rock, classic rock and the nostalgic tunes of the WWII era then do yourself a favor and get a copy of this CD while they last
Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers were a novelty pop music act who were the third band to have their first three releases go to number one on the UK singles chart, a feat they achieved between July and December 1989. The previous bands to do so were Gerry & the Pacemakers and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. They also went to number one in several other countries, but not the United States.
