Sky 4: Forthcoming is the fourth studio album by English/Australian instrumental progressive rock band Sky, released in 1982. It is the only Sky album to contain no original compositions - except for Kevin Peek's rewrite of a 13th-century melody - relying instead on the band's arrangements of other (mostly classical) composers' pieces. In 2015 Esoteric Recordings continued a schedule of remasters and expanded releases with this recording.

Sky's fourth, simply titled "4: Forthcoming," contains only covers of some famous, some not-so-famous classical pieces, which are of course give the Sky treatment. There is little of interest for ths album unless you are an initated Sky/John Williams fan or you like Classcal-rock cross-over. While this isn't ther best album, it's still quite accomplished

The fourth Sky album - Sky 4 Forthcoming - was released in March 1982. This was Sky's first album to feature no original material. It consisted predominantly of arrangements of classical compositions (with the exception of a version of Hoagy Carmichael's "Skylark" and a band-composed variation on Adam de la Halle's ballet score for "My Giselle") and was marketed under the slogan "Genius Past, Genius Forthcoming".

SKY 2 was a fine achievement, featuring the hit single Toccata, and topped the UK album charts upon its release. For the bands third album, Steve Gray replaced Francis Monkman on keyboards, but the band continued their run of success as SKY 3 reached the UK top ten upon its release in March 1981. The albums success followed a highly memorable concert by the band at Westminster Abbey in London on February 24th 1981, which was recorded and broadcast by BBC Television.
