Louis Armstrong was one of the most influential figures in the jazz scene. As a trumpeter, singer and composer he recorded some of the most famous songs the world would ever hear. This Collected release combines the songs from his early days with his big hits and collaborations with other artists. Louis Armstrong was born and raised in New Orleans during the first 20 years of the 20th century. From 1920 onwards he became known as an inventive trumpet and corn player  . 180 gram audiophile vinyl. High quality PVC Protective Sleeve.

Armstrong enjoyed working with Oliver, but Louis' second wife, pianist Lil Hardin Armstrong, urged him to seek more prominent billing and develop his newer style away from the influence of Oliver. Lil had her husband play classical music in church concerts to broaden his skill and improve his solo play and she prodded him into wearing more stylish attire to make him look sharp and to better offset his growing girth. With Jack Teagarden (left) and Barney Bigard (right), Armstrong plays the trumpet in Helsinki, Finland, October 1949.
