See Me, Feel Me" (aka Listening To You/See Me, Feel Me and See Me, Feel Me/Listening To You) is a song from the Who's 1969 album Tommy. It consists of two overture parts from Tommy, the second and third parts of the album's final song "We're Not Gonna Take It": "See Me, Feel Me" and "Listening To You". It was released as a single in September 1970. The song is not identified as a separate track on the 1969 studio version of the album.

As an overture the song features samples of Tommy's most famous songs: 0:00 - 0:34 Adapted from "1921". 0:35 - 1:01 Adapted from "We're Not Gonna Take It". 1:02 - 1:35 Adapted from "Go to the Mirror!" 1:36 - 1:52 Adapted from "See Me, Feel Me". 1:53 - 2:20 Adapted from "Go to the Mirror!" 2:21 - 2:58 Adapted from "Listening to You"

These two traits, unsurprisingly, spill over to the soundtrack, which is hardly just a re-recording of the Who album - it's a gaudy reinvention of the album, padded with elaborate production twists until it's ready to burst.

See Me Feel Me Touch Me Heal Me. Listening to you, I get the music Gazing at you, I get the heat Following you, I climb the mountain I get excitement at your feet. Right behind you, I see the millions On you, I see the glory From you, I get opinion From you, I get the story.

See Me, Feel Me"/"Overture from Tommy" Released: October 1970. The Who. Rock operas. Tommy is the fourth studio album by the English rock band The Who. It was first released as a double album in 23 May 1969 by Decca Records. The album was mostly composed by guitarist Pete Townshend as a rock opera that tells the story about a "deaf, dumb and blind" boy, including his experiences with life and his relationship with his family. Townshend came up with the concept of Tommy after being introduced to the work of Meher Baba, and attempted to translate Baba's teachings into music.

Talk about The Who - See Me, Feel Me / Overture From Tommy

Jorad
nice unique original french sleeve released in 1970, nice psyche shot for its time
Cointrius
beautiful and one of the most common japan who 45 sleeves.....................................i belive this one was released in 1970 or 71, it was released a year or two after the tommy lp was released in japan in 1969
Risteacor
However, I should have added, a large number of copies of the UK pressing found their way to the Netherlands!
Goldenfang
Yes, that is correct. It was released on October 9, 1970 and the single was on the market for less than a month before it was withdrawn and replaced by the four-track Tommy EP on 6 November 1970. Both failed to chart.
Anayanis
This is often mentioned as a "Withdrawn" issue, when the later picture sleeved EP came out. Any confirmation on that?
SING
ps the who decca us 45s where released between 1965 and 1972............................
Dainris
this was the second who 45 released in the us on decca in 1970 probably due to how huge tommy had exploded by 1970, this was released in 1970, this was the second who 45 to have a decca pic sleeve in the us, the first was the happy jack 45 on decca in 1967, there where very few who picture sleeve us 45s in the 60s and 70s, the two others of note are young man blues from 1970 on decca w/ a PROMO pic sleeve and the other was squeeze box from 1975 with a PROMO only us pic sleeve those two are hard to get as they where only promos, this one and happy jack are still easy to find as they where not promos, DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!!!!!!!!!! there are sellers on e bay selling some of the 60s decca 45s w/ picture sleeves that look beautiful and they are passing them off as promos THEY ARE BOOTLEGS NOT PROMOS and only started to appear in the past two years, i know this as i have been collecting who since 1979.................i have all the us DECCA who 45s............
