Laurent Garnier is set to release his fifth artist album in May, entitled Tales Of A Kleptomaniac. As to be expected from the genre-hopping Frenchman, the album takes in a multitude of styles; going from techno and house through to drum & bass and even dubstep. Philippe Naudaud and Benjamin Rippert will resume the instrumental duties that they took on his Public Outburst LP from 2007, and it's likely that they will also play as part of the live setup for Garnier's forthcoming tour.

A: Acid tinged bassline and repeated "sex, planet sex" male vocal start off events but when aligned with a moaning girl make it sound a little charmless. Synths are fairly ineffectual until the whole track builds in the final third. 1st rework on flip is far more rewarding. [SEVEN]B1: Slightly acid tinged detroit techno topped with erotic female sounds. Synths build alluringly from 1/3 through but, like the girl in question don't quite climax. An enjoyable journey though. Still a minor classic ahead of it's time. [NINE]B2: Only slightly different to B2 a touch more stripped, a touch less from the girl. [EIGHT]
