Talk about Various - Chez Damier Presents ... Purpose By Design - Compilation Project

allegro
Brawther's track on here is absolutely fantastic. 100/10. Absolutely sublime.

Brawther's "Endless" remix on here is yet another feather for his hat. What we have here is quality deep house with bass and dub elements of UK garage. But like most of Brawther's output, he takes these contemporary influences which others might use to make something trendy and throwaway and incorporates them into his genuine, rootsy house sound. This is another reason not to lump this producer in with the superficial, quickly-cheesifying retro-deep house (or "hardcore deep house" or whatever they want to call it) fad eminating from France. Brawther, in my opinion has the real goods and transcends any labeling of retro-whatever. He's got his finger to the pulse of what's going on but also just continuing the house evolution in an organic way, the way I see it. I'm always looking forward to upcoming Brawther releases. And you'd better buy them fast because they tend to be highly-sought after in no time and in limited press runs.

Oh, I should also add that The Miruga track on here is also a treat. A deep, jazzy tune which finds it's place right between Detroit techno and deep house. Beautiful, serene and pumping all at once. As for the other side of this record, I could've done without these two tracks completely--a total waste of vinyl. I wish they could have just gave entire sides each to the Brawther and Miruga tunes. But that would just be too perfect, right? Oh well...
