Home is Procol Harum's fourth album, released in 1970. With the departure of organist Matthew Fisher and bassist David Knights and the addition of the remaining musicians' (Gary Brooker, B. J. Wilson and Robin Trower) former bandmate bassist/organist Chris Copping from The Paramounts, Procol Harum was, for all intents and purposes, The Paramounts again in all but name. The purpose of bringing in Copping was to return some of the R&B sound to the band that they had with their previous incarnation.

PROCOL HARUM - Home - 1971 German Vinyl 12'' L. VG+/ Prog Psych Rock. Home is a very much more even album than its predecessor, and the highlights are also brighter than on ASD. Again based on an artwork from Reid's wife (the third is four albums), but this one being rather disputable in its good taste, the gatefold album displays some of the chosen lyrics (but strangely not all tracks) and a picture of the quartet.

Home is a marvellous souvenir of Procol Harum's variety: their roots are displayed on the opening Whisky Train, Robin Trower's bluesy guitar blazing a tribute to Presley's Mystery Train; the epic Whaling Stories is Procol at their most ambitious, ploughing the furrow of 'progressive rock' they had made their own; Your Own Choice and Still There'll Be More ar. With so much already achieved by the time of its release in 1970, Procol Harum proved with Home that there was still plenty ahead.
