Gary Fields - Sounds About Right flac album

Sounds About Right is a good example of a crooner disc that is pleasingly jazzy but is really traditional pop rather than full-fledged jazz. Gary Fields didn't come out of the crooner era; he wasn't born until the early '80s, but stylistically, he gets a lot of inspiration from Crosby-minded traditional pop crooners like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, J. and Tony Bennett. Given that Davis is, arguably, somewhat underrated as far as crooners go - too many people associate the Rat Pack member with his 1972 novelty hit "The Candy Man," when in fact there was so much more.
