Piano Collections: Final Fantasy IX a piano arranged album of tracks from Final Fantasy IX, performed by Louis Leerink. The fold-out liner notes have the tracklist in mixed Japanese and English; sheet music to "Melodies of Life"; a profile of Louis Leerink; a photo of Shirō Hamaguchi, Leerink, and Nobuo Uematsu; a message from Uematsu; and photos of Leerink playing. Final Fantasy V: Piano Collections. I loved this album to death. In my opinion it's the very best piano soundtrack Uematsu has written. FFIV & FFVI's piano soundtracks sound very amaturish compared to the compilations included in the piano soundtracks for Final Fantasy 7 & 9. While Uematsu has yet to write anything to the degree of say, Beethoven's third movement of Moonlight Sonata, this CD contains a number of quite powerful piano arrangements. Melodies of Life is one such example. It is by far the most beautiful piano song (aside from FF7's Aerith's Theme) Uematsu has released.

The music of the video game Final Fantasy IX was composed by regular series composer Nobuo Uematsu. It was his last exclusive Final Fantasy score. The Final Fantasy IX Original Soundtrack, a compilation of all music in the game, was originally released on four Compact Discs by DigiCube in 2000, and was re-released by Square Enix in 2004.
