Beastie Boys - The Mix-Up flac album

The Mix-Up is the seventh studio album by the Beastie Boys, released on June 26, 2007. The album consists entirely of instrumental performances and won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album. On May 1, 2007, an e-mail sent to those on the Beastie Boys' mailing list revealed the album is all instrumental. On June 21, 2007, a legal stream of the entire album was released on BrooklynVegan.

Most of these were gathered up on the 1996 compilation The In Sound from Way Out, which undoubtedly sounds similar to The Mix Up, but that's at heart an odds-n-sods collection, bearing the evidence that it was patched together from different sources. The Mix Up was designed as a specific project, so it holds together better, and it's also decidedly less knowing in its references than the cleverly kitschy In Sound (its title and artwork borrowed from classic '60s LPs)

The Beastie Boys have just released their first new album in three years, The Mix Up. Like their 1996 release The In Sound from Way Out!, this album has no samples, singing, rapping or obscure cultural references, just pure instrumental jams. I’m really digging it (not that I didn’t like their other stuff). A couple music videos from the album have found their way on to YouTube, Off The Grid and The Rat Cage.

For the first time every track is an instrumental. This spits hot fire! Mike D said that "even though The Mix-Up is a "post-punk instrumental" album, the Beasties have no plans to ditch vocals for good".
