Not to be confused with Johnny Thunders. Johnny Thunder (middle, lower half) and Thunderbolt (left, lower half) on the cover of All-American Comics (May 1999). William Twotrees is the illegitimate son of 1940s hero Johnny Thunder and a Jicarilla Apache woman. Afraid of prejudices against mixed marriages, Johnny abandoned his son, something he later regretted deeply. However, it seems as if Johnny's partner, the magic Thunderbolt named Yz, left his mark on young William, who developed astonishing thunderbolt powers later in his life Twotrees has neither reappeared since the cancellation of the Primal Force series nor been referenced in any way in the later Justice Society of America titles.

Sticks & Stones - The Lost Album. Johnny Thunders, born John Anthony Genzale, Jr (July 15, 1952 - April 23, 1991), was a rock and roll guitarist and singer, first with the New York Dolls, the proto-punk glam rockers of the early '70s. During the late '70s, he was a familiar figure on the New York punk scene, both with The Heartbreakers and as a solo artist. Thunders tangled with the demons of fame and drug addiction until his death on April 23, 1991 of a methadone overdose. Some suspect foul play.

Entranced by rock’n’roll, Genzale made the leap from observer to protagonist in his mid-teens. Me and my cousin Janis used to go to the Fillmore East every Saturday, his childhood friend Gail Higgins remembers. He was Sid’s hero, so I guess he felt a little bit guilty because Sid went down that road because he wanted to be like Johnny. Upon returning to the US, Thunders and family set up home in Dexter, Michigan. Thunders returned to the road with a vengeance in the last year of his life. In the spring of ’91, following lucrative gigs in Japan, he ended up in New Orleans intent on fulfilling his ultimate musical ambition. Classic Rock Newsletter.

Johnny Thunders is one of the most important figures of 1970s' rock'n'roll reinassance which would lead to punk-rock. The singer, David Johansen, typical figure of the debauched hooliganism of the Lower East Side, gave with his album David Johansen (Blue Sky, 1978) maybe the last gem of a decadent kind of music, an album which continues the suburban saga of his old band with Girls, Funky But Chic, Frenchette, Donna, Cool Metro, played in a powerful bar-band style.

His last studio album has to be the best cover album of all time 'Copy Cats by Johnny Thunders & Patti Palladin. Sadly after writing new songs and touring extensively Thunders died in 1991 before he got a chance to record them in New Orleans with fellow band mate Jerry Nolan on drums again. There are studio versions of the songs on the cd Sticks and Stones but they were just a soundboard rough recording. Had he lived he would have recorded a fantastic studio album with the best musicians from New Orleans. But it was strange when Lech Kowalski asked De Ville how did you get hold of that Johnny Thunders item in the movie The Last Rock'n'Roll Movie. Wille de Ville just said "Hey man I don't wanna get into that.
