All Day I Dream About Spittin') (with DJ Rhettmatic) (2010). The Yellow Snow EP (with Doc Hollywood) (2011). Spit No Evil (with Doc Hollywood) (2012). Drop No Evil EP (with Louie Rubio) (2013). Since this offering is supposed to invoke Ras’ original masterpiece it’s hard not to compare it with his first album, but when you do that, you’re left feeling slightly disappointed. This much-delayed 20 th Anniversary celebration of Soul On Ice I assume is purposely separated into two albums; one a straight-forward new LP, and the other a continuation of the super-lyricism found in the original album. BARdom is a song in which Ras Kass and KRS One outline how talent and originality rarely results in fame, but fame usually comes to those with no talent.
Then again, when at his best, the poetic flourishes of Kass always have been sort of superhuman, whether omniscient ( Nature of the Threat ), omnipotent ( Interview with the Vampire ), or straight-up invincible ( Waterproof MC ). Ras, Blashphemy marks a departure from your previous work because only one producer is involved. Even on Spit No Evil, there were two beat-makers. How does creating an album with one producer compare with working with several, and is there any particular reason you haven’t done this before? Ras: It’s definitely different.
Xzibit is married to a woman named Krista and they have two children together; Xavier and Gatlyn. Xavier was born prematurely on May 15, 2008, and died eleven days after he was born. Xzibit also has another son, Tremaine, born June 8, 1995, when Xzibit was 20 years old. The song The Foundation from Xzibit's debut studio album At the Speed of Life is dedicated to Tremaine. It spawned four singles, the most successful being "What U See Is What U Get" charting at number 50 in the United States. The album is his highest charting album to date, reaching number 3 in the . He starred in 8 Mile and The Country Bears the same year.
Ready To Live" channels the classic Notorious .
It's abruptly cut off which is a shame since the song could bring some more much neated heat to the project. Khalil also laces Ras with the title track which is another banger. I get the feeling that DJ Khalil should be the main producer of this album, as he and Ras seems to have a nice chemistry between them. And it's probably the best thing to do as, despite a few real heaters, this album would taint Ras Kass catalouge maybe even to the point of no return. Download it for yourself. listen to this and then listen to the "Goldyn Child" album which is at least quite a bit better although it still really doesn't match up Ras' two first albums.
Nature of the Threat is the fifth-and most popular- track on Ras Kass' debut album, Soul on Ice. Despite not being released as a single, the song gained attention for it’s extreme Afrocentric take on world history. When Rap Genius sat down with Ras Kass, we asked him how this track came together and why he felt compelled to create such an unorthodox song.
