Wild Cherry was an American funk rock band best known for their song "Play That Funky Music". Rob Parissi (lead vocals & guitar) was raised in the steel mill town of Mingo Junction, Ohio. He graduated from Mingo High School in 1968, and formed the band Wild Cherry in 1970 in Steubenville, Ohio. The band's name 'Wild Cherry' was taken from a box of cough drops. The band played the Ohio Valley region, the Northern West Virginia panhandle, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

In 1968 the Wild Cherries released another psychedelic gem, Gotta Stop Lying. This was a hard rocking, punkish original with a great paisley guitar solo, emotive vocals and trippy organ work. Later on in the year, the band released their final single, I Don’t Care. This song was a total departure from their earlier, raw sound, being a ballad with strings, backup singers and a heavily phased ending. Some fans consider this single their experimental peak, though I am not one of them. Lack of commercial success effectively ended this innovative group’s career in late 68/early 1969

The band had several personnel changes, the 1967 line-up featured Keith Barber on drums, Peter Eddey on bass guitar, founder Les Gilbert on keyboards, Lobby Loyde (ex-The Purple Hearts) on guitars, and Dan Robinson on vocals. you love yo' babe, play that tune for me Just because I feel so funny Honey I don't care for money I'm goin' crazy, that rag's a daisy I just can't make my feeling behave Play that tune again Mighty soon again Honey, don't you start to scold I'm feeling like a two year old When I.

I don't read a lot of historical fiction. However, now and then I will try a novel from the genre and I usually end up enjoying it. So when this novel with its gorgeous cover came my way, I was really hoping that I would like i. .and I am happy to say that I did. 1919 - The war is over but Emeline Vane has lost so muc.All opinions are my own. Reading Where The Wild Cherries Grow was quite the experience for me. The writing is so rich, especially in respects to the food and the landscape, that I felt like I was right there for all of it. Where the Wild Cherries Grow switches between perspectives and time periods. Past is 1919 (besides the epilogue) and is told from the perspective of Emeline. First from her diary, and then from her POV as she runs from her past.
