Inflatable flying pigs were one of the staple props of Pink Floyd's live shows. The first was a sow, but a very obviously male pig appeared in the 1980s. Pigs appeared numerous times in concerts by the band, promoting concerts and record releases, and on the cover of their 1977 album Animals. The image rights for the pigs passed to Roger Waters when he split from the rest of the group, though the pigs continued to be used by both post-Roger Waters Pink Floyd and Roger Waters in their gigs.

Produced by James Guthrie, Bob Ezrin, Pink Floyd & 1 more. Nobody Home Lyrics " "Who's that?" "Rose Pilchitt!" "Rose Pilchitt? Who's that?" (Kid screams in background) (Shut up!)

Pink Floyd have been known to perform and/or record a number of songs and instrumentals which have never been officially released on a single or album. Only those whose existence can be reliably confirmed are listed here. Bootleg recordings of the majority of below listed songs exist. Several previously unreleased songs appeared on The Early Years 1965–1972 box set in November 2016, which marked their first official release.

Pink Floyd released Animals on 23 January 1977. Although it was the seminal band’s tenth studio album, it remains one of their most famous for its Orwellian socio-political critique, an iconic cover and early prog inclinations. Animals also marked the beginnings of dissent within the band over a chief songwriter. Three years after it’s release keyboardist Richard Wright would leave the band and The Wall would be hit shelves, casting a gargantuan shadow across the humble forerunner

The cover art to the Pink Floyd album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, stands as one of the few times that members of Pink Floyd were pictured on the cover of a vinyl album. The album was Pink Floyd’s debut record and was released on August 5th 1967. The cover photo was shot by photographer Vic Singh.

Pink Floyd’s 1975 album Wish You Were Here is filled with sounds easily missed by even the most dedicated listener. There’s jazz virtuoso Stéphane Grappelli playing faint violin on the title track, and the refrain from Floyd’s 1967 hit See Emily Play on Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part IX. The first sound heard on the album is an eerie drone created by fingers running around the rims of wine glasses, each filled with varying amounts of liquid to create different notes
