Keith Tippett (born Keith Graham Tippetts 25 August 1947) is a British jazz pianist and composer. In the late 1960s, Tippett led a sextet featuring Elton Dean on saxophone, Mark Charig on trumpet and Nick Evans on trombone. 1990 – (25 September) with Elton Dean, Louis Moholo & Marcio Mattos for a track named Second Thoughts, released on Elton Dean's album The Vortex Tapes (recorded live at the Vortex Jazz Bar, London). 1990 – (3 & 4 November) Keith conducts track No. 9, Sun-the Living Son, on Mary Wiegold's Songbook (with the Composers Ensemble) (recorded at All Saints' Church, Petersham). 2005 – (March) with George Burt/Raymond McDonald Sextet – A Day for a Reason (recorded at An Tobar Arts Centre, Tobermory, Mull, Scotland).

Keith Tippett (originally Keith Graham Tippetts, born August 25, 1947 in Bristol) is a British jazz pianist and composer. Tippett went to Greenway Boys Secondary Modern school in Southmead, Bristol  . A Day For A Reason (2005).

This disc comes out of the same ording project at An Tobar in Mull as last year’s A Day for a Reason, centred on the Tobermory clock and the two women closely associated with it, the adventurous Victorian traveller Isabella Bird and her sister, Henrietta. The ever-resourceful Sextet is jointly led by guitarist George Burt and saxophonist Raymond MacDonald, with George Lyle on bass, Alyn Cosker on drums, and Nicola MacDonald on vocals and melodica.
