Walking Man is the fifth studio album by singer-songwriter James Taylor. Released on June 1, 1974, it was not as successful as his previous efforts, only reaching on the Billboard Album Chart and only selling 300,000 copies in the USA. Until 2008's Covers, it was the only studio album he released that never received a certification as a gold or platinum record from the RIAA
Walking Man, James Taylor's fifth album, released in 1974 finds him at a transitional period. This album is the first that has the contemporary JT feel to it, his sound and songwriting had matured. He still delivers the classic sound developed back in the Sweet Baby James era but the 'one man and his guitar' format has given way to heavier orchestration and use of a horn section that gives the general sound more of a bite. In 1972, Taylor scored another gold album with One Man Dog, followed up in 1973 with Walking Man. The album Gorilla (1975) included two more major chart entries: 'How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)' and 'Mexico'.

James Taylor is the self-titled debut studio album by American singer-songwriter James Taylor. Released on December 6, 1968, it was the first recording by a non-British artist released by Apple Records, and would also be Taylor's only release on that label. The album was released under the title First Album on the South African market. The album was produced by Peter Asher, who was A&R head for The Beatles' newly formed label Apple Records
