Koyaanisqatsi (English: /koʊjɑːnɪsˈkɑːtsiː/), also known as Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance, is a 1982 American experimental film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke. The film consists primarily of slow motion and time-lapse footage of cities and many natural landscapes across the United States. The visual tone poem contains neither dialogue nor a vocalized narration: its tone is set by the juxtaposition of images and music.
Directed by Godfrey Reggio Music by Philip Glass. Koyaanisqatsi, Reggio’s debut as a film director and producer, is the first film of the QATSI trilogy. The title is a Hopi Indian word meaning life out of balance. Created between 1975 and 1982, the film is an apocalyptic vision of the collision of two different worlds - urban life and technology versus the environment. The musical score was composed by Philip Glass. Koyaanisqatsi attempts to reveal the beauty of the beast! We usually perceive our world, our way of living, as beautiful because there is nothing else to perceive.

I don't know why this Nonesuch 1998 release is listed as "Reissue" above (It was a reissue of 7559-79519-2, both from 1998?). NB: The album was completely re-recorded in 1998 and is not the same as the 1983 release. It also contains two additional tracks, 'Organic' and 'Resource'. Although the sound is of superior quality the tracks are not identical arrangements. For instance 'Pruit Igoe', the most popular piece, at 2:33 the 'bounding' instrumentation sounds synthesised in the original, whereas it's more orchestral in the remake.
